  • Practice belly breathing – breathe in for 4 seconds to expand the belly, hold for 2 seconds, then exhale for 6 seconds. Do this for 5 to 15 minutes. This slower breathing technique increases oxygenation.[25]
  • If you find yourself snoring and waking abruptly at night gasping for air, consider an evaluation for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea decreases oxygenation to your body and results in poor sleep, causing fatigue.[26]
